Job Description:

Molecular Biology contractor, Protein Engineering, Rahway:

The Protein Engineering group at client is seeking an experienced researcher to support our molecular biology capabilities.

• The primary mission of the group is to design and engineer enzymes, therapeutic proteins/peptides to enable drug discovery and development.
• This position in our molecular biology team is responsible for DNA related workflow (gene library construction and cloning, high-throughput DNA preparation, and sequencing) to support our protein directed evolution workflow.
  
  

This is a lab based scientist role, person need to come onsite to perform the experiments in the lab. 100% onsite.

• Need strong hands-on molecular cloning skill.
• Need NGS experience as a scientist and not as technician
• Molecular Cloning, NGS techniques and sequencing must have.
  
  

Please Focus On Required Experiences And Skills:

• Expertise in Molecular Biology Techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, Cloning, mutagenesis, gel electrophoresis, bacterial transformation and culture, protein expression/purification and analysis).
• Ability to independently design Molecular Cloning works.
• Experience with DNA sequencing technologies (Sanger & NGS) and sequencing data analysis.
• Key skills:
• Should have molecular biology background and expertise.
• Wet lab expertise with PCR, DNA extraction
• Substantial expertise with analyzing sequencing data( example Geneious software)
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in biological science 4 years of experience in molecular biology, or an MS degree with 2 years or PhD in a molecular biology related discipline.
• The successful candidate will have hands on experiences in various Molecular Biology techniques, including DNA cloning, DNA purification, PCR, primer design, DNA sequencing and analysis, bacterial transformation and culture.
  
  

Required Experiences And Skills:

• Expertise in Molecular Biology Techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, Cloning, mutagenesis, gel electrophoresis, bacterial transformation and culture.
• Ability to independently design Molecular Cloning works.
• Experience with DNA sequencing technologies (Sanger) and sequencing data analysis.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Excellent teamwork and multitasking.
• Good documentation of experimental reports.
  
  

Preferred Experience And Skills:

Nice to have

• Molecular Biology and analysis software (Geneious, Benchling, etc).
• Programming skills (Python, etc) is plus.
• Experience in protein directed evolution platforms (phage display, yeast display, mRNA display) is plus.
• Experience with high-throughput screening and automated liquid handling is a plus.
