Senior Research Scientist, Bioinformatics

Target Pay Rate: 70-100.54/hr **salary will be commensurate with experience

Position Summary

Research Scientist Bioinformatics in our Platform Biology group will aid in the analysis and interpretation of genomic-scale studies such as bulk and single cell NGS and proteomics. This position reports to Senior Research Investigator in Bioinformatics and Proteomics in Platform Biology and and can work remotely from a location within the U.S.

Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

• Apply solutions for analysis of high-dimensional data sets to support drug discovery programs and platform development
• Integrate external and internal multi-omics data sets to provide mechanistic insights and support novel target and biomarker identification
• Provide biological interpretation of complex datasets and present them in a clear and understandable way
• Maintain proper recordkeeping
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing functional genomics data proteomics data and multi-omics data integration
• Strong skills in relevant programming languages e.g. R Python Linux shell scripting Bioconductor packages workflow description languages e.g. Nextflow visualization tools
• Understanding of statistical concepts and modeling procedures
• Experience with handling and processing raw sequencing data e.g. FASTQ BAM
• Familiarity with biological databases - e.g. UniProt Ensemble NCBI resources DepMap etc.
• Experience working in a high-performance computing and/or cloud computing environment
• Excellent oral and written skills
  
  

Education

• M.S. degree with 5 years of experience or Ph.D. with relevant experience in bioinformatics and computational biology
• CO/NY candidates may not be considered
