• Full Time Schedule:  Monday-Friday (8am-4pm)
• Hourly Pay: $22.00
• Location:  Secaucus, NJ 07094

Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our building services team. The Painter will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, equipment, and furniture. The ideal candidate will have experience in surface preparation, mixing colors, and ensuring a high-quality finish on all projects.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling holes, sanding, and washing walls.
• Select appropriate tools, materials, and techniques to match the project specifications.
• Mix and match paint colors to achieve the desired results.
• Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths and masking tape to ensure a clean work environment
• Repair and touch up surfaces as needed to maintain a high standard of finish.
• Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment after use.
• Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment as necessary.
• Collaborate with other maintenance team members on large projects or tasks requiring coordination.
• Maintain records of materials used and time spent on each project.
• Provide estimates for time and materials for various painting projects.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a professional painter in residential or commercial settings.
• Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and materials.
• Familiarity with different types of paints, stains, and finishes.
• Ability to mix colors and produce desired hues accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Physical stamina and ability to work at heights, on scaffolding, or ladders.
• Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating quantities of materials.
• Certification or vocational training in painting (preferred but not required).
• Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel regularly during tasks.
• Capability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
