About our Position
The Philanthropy Manager will lead and supervise a team of 4-6 Philanthropy Officers, strategically guiding their efforts to cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts across our six-state affiliate. In addition to team leadership, the Philanthropy Manager will manage a portfolio of 25-40 major donors and prospects, ensuring the effective engagement of these key individuals to meet or exceed fundraising goals. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Manager will work closely with our 20 person development team, board of directors, Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates (PPAA) staff, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) staff, consultants, and other staff members within the organization to meet annual goals and objectives.
What you will be doing!
Leadership & Team Management: Responsible for leading a team of 4-6 Philanthropy Officers to meet annual and campaign fundraising goals.
Providing guidance and direction on donor strategy and performance management, ensuring effective outreach and relationship management.
Budget & Resource Management: Managing budget for Philanthropy Officer team to ensure efficient use of resources.
Project Management: Managing a portfolio of 25-40 donors; developing personalized engagement plans, preparing written material including donor correspondence and proposals, and track donor interactions in Raiser’s Edge.
Collaborating with the Director of Philanthropy and other team members to align team activities with organizational priorities and donor engagement strategies.
Reporting & Metric: Monitoring and analyzing fundraising progress, ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) and goals are being met.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting regular meetings, one-on-ones, and performance reviews.
Fostering a collaborative team culture that encourages sharing of best practices and innovative approaches.
Overseeing the staffing, training, and operational costs of the team.
Partnering with other departments (e.g., Communications, Events, and Marketing) to ensure cohesive donor engagement efforts.
Collaborating with the development operations team to ensure accurate donor tracking and reporting.
Activating campaign strategies as needed and serve as the primary point of contact between gift officers and consultants to include contracted campaign support.
Reporting on team performance and fundraising outcomes to department leadership.
Use data to make informed decisions and guide strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Five years of experience in fundraising with a focus on individual giving.
Three years of experience managing a team.
Associate’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven track record of leading and motivating a team of gift officers to meet or exceed revenue goals.
Established fundraiser with a history of securing six and seven-figure gifts from individual donors.
Campaign experience preferred.
Highly relational with strong interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal communication.
Strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in using data and fundraising metrics.
Experience with CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge) to track fundraising progress
Salary Range:
$66,440 - $145,163.00
