The Senior Manager of Philanthropy plays a critical role in ensuring the sustainability and growth of Kentucky Science Center’s mission through strategic fundraising initiatives. This position will lead Kentucky Science Center’s philanthropic efforts, overseeing the development and implementation of strategies to secure funding from individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations. In this role, the Senior Manager will manage a portfolio of corporate and individual donors, ensuring effective stewardship and cultivation. The Senior Manager will also provide oversight to a team which includes administrative staff, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality proposals.
This position requires at least five years of experience in leading a philanthropy or development function within the nonprofit sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead fundraising efforts with a focus on individual gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundations, and significant donations.
- Manage a portfolio of Tier 1 corporate donors and individual major gift prospects.
- Cultivate and steward new donors with intent to increase pipeline for Tier 1 donors.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key corporate partners and donors to meet fundraising goals.
- Develop and execute an annual fundraising plan, including consistent reporting of outcomes and deliverables.
- Provide oversight to a grant writer to ensure the development of compelling and competitive grant proposals.
- Supervise an administrative position, ensuring smooth operations and effective donor communications.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to align fundraising strategies with organizational goals and initiatives.
