Part of the Communications and Marketing team, the Digital Marketing Specialist will report to the Marketing Manager and will be responsible for supporting PPGC’s digital content and marketing initiatives while elevating the Planned Parenthood brand. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter and energetic team player with experience in digital content creation and management, passion for social change, and a demonstrated commitment to health equity and excellent customer service.
This is a hybrid role for a candidate based in the Greater Houston, Texas area.
Essential Functions
- Works closely with Marketing Manager and external marketing consultants to develop and support campaigns that promote health services and drive patient visits
- Plans, creates, and manages high-quality social media content tailored to various platforms that drives engagement, brand awareness, and conversions
- Manages and grows PPGC's social media communities by engaging with followers, responding to comments and messages, and fostering positive interaction
- Regularly analyzes and reports on the performance and efficacy of marketing and social media campaigns in collaboration with Marketing Manager
- Analyzes PPGC’s patient demographics to inform and optimize marketing strategies
- Partners with Patient Care team to implement patient engagement and retention initiatives and promote health services via MyChart and other platforms
- Leads market analysis projects to inform operations and ensure affiliate remains competitive in local health care landscape
- Manages content development and maintenance of PPGC website properties to ensure accurate information and reflect timely operational updates
- Manages and responds to patient feedback through PPGC’s online platforms and review accounts, including social media, Yelp, and Google, to ensure brand reputation, maintain a healthy online presence, and improve patient experience in collaboration with the Patient Care team
- Maintains affiliate’s external email calendar and works with affiliate and national colleagues to optimize email strategy and ensure all content follows brand standards and best practices
- Supports internal communications through content creation and platform maintenance
- Demonstrates leadership and actively collaborates with staff at all levels of the organization, providing meaningful contributions to help drive decision-making
- Effectively manages cross-divisional projects with proven ability to balance competing priorities, maintain progress, employ creative problem-solving, and consistently meet deliverables and deadlines
- Supports Communications and Marketing Team administrative functions
- Completes other projects as assigned

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field
- 2-3 years of experience in marketing, advertising, or communications with a corporate or nonprofit organization; health care marketing experience strongly preferred
- Experience developing engaging and visually appealing content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok with demonstrated ability to stay on top of social media trends
- Graphic design and video editing experience with proficiency in programs such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro), CapCut, etc.
- Familiarity with ad platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google Ads, and TikTok Ads Manager
- Experience analyzing and reporting on key performance metrics for various digital efforts (e.g. using Google Analytics to analyze website performance)
- Experience managing email marketing and utilizing CRM platforms such as EveryAction, HubSpot, etc.
- Experience in brand and reputation management including maintaining brand standards, ensuring consistency in tone of voice, and safeguarding organizational image across all communications
- Technical skills with web content management systems such as WordPress, Django, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Teams, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for advancing health equity and reproductive freedom
- Knowledge of diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation to cultural differences
Language Skills
- English required, bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
