Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio is seeking a full-time (37.5 Hours) mission-minded Director of Security and Emergency Management. Must reside in Ohio prior to start date.
SUMMARY
The Director of Security and Emergency Management provides vision, leadership, and expertise to develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive security and emergency management program. This program encompasses general safety, fire protection, life safety, and investigative efforts across the organization. This role leads a dedicated team of security professionals and plays a crucial role in educating all staff on security practices and incident response, ensuring that every Associate understands their role in maintaining a safe and secure environment. Additionally, the Director of Security and Emergency Management will develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and build collaborative partnerships with private sector entities and local, state, regional, and federal stakeholders to coordinate information and activities effectively. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of security services and operations in order to provide safety and security to all PPGOH properties, staff, visitors and patients.
- In collaboration with key stakeholders, develops and applies security strategies consistent with the identification of current risks, meeting all Agency regulatory and budgetary requirements.
- Ensures 24-hour emergency response to all Agency staff and on-call medical teams.
- Understands, interprets, and enforces new and/or updated local, state, and federal security regulations.
- Maintains positive working relations with internal customers and all outside agencies including local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
- Acts as the main point person for all PPGOH regional security issues.
- Ensures timely reporting of security incidents to PPFA and oversees the internal security incident reporting system.
- Develops a security strategy for all Agency events and oversees contract security personnel as needed.
- Assesses and responds to community needs; provides consultation to the Senior Leadership Team, board committees, and coalition partners.
- Partners with Facilities to identify appropriate building build-outs and security engineering techniques for hardening building security to any current or prospective spaces.
- Responsible for security coordination for event security including demonstrations, fundraisers, and political activities.
- Responsible for approving our third party constructional agreement with security services.
- Oversees high profile executive personal security and works with national agent to scrub online presence.
- Drafts and coordinates the review of incident management plans and processes to ensure that operational procedures are in place to provide critical infrastructure-related information and assistance (as required) when major threats, incidents, or emergencies occur. Raises items to risk management teams.
- Ensures and oversees the development of regular emergency preparedness drills for Agency compliance.
- Contributes to business continuity planning initiatives alongside the Director of IT and others.
- Participates in the staff risk management and clinical quality committee (RQM) as a subject matter expert on security risks and emergency preparedness
- In partnership with diverse organizations, including government organizations and community-based agencies, creates regional emergency plans for mutual aid assistance for large-scale events.
- In collaboration with key stakeholders, revamps the Agency Crisis Communications Plan.
- Negotiates contracts with emergency supply vendors and provides an adequate level of response for all facilities.
- Conducts research and applicable regulations/standards concerning workplace safety. Integrates findings into policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Demonstrates strong understanding of a wide array of applications for emergency management principles including our primary services lines (i.e., planning, training, exercise, operations support, analysis, etc.) in federal, state, local and commercial business segments.
- Must be familiar with security systems (i.e. camera, access and control).
- Ability to ensure 24-hour response for security or disaster recovery emergencies.
- Must be willing to travel to all PPGOH sites.
- Senior leadership skills with demonstrated ability to implement and carry out strategic plans.
- Responsible for properly handling emotional situations and independently solving a variety of difficult situations in a timely manner.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Must be knowledgeable in mass emergency notification systems and underlining principles in crisis communications.
- Must possess proven investigation tactics and techniques for internal and external practices.
- Ability to fulfil some of the duties of the Senior Leadership Team in their absence.
- Accountable for department budget and proposals.
- Ability to manage time effectively with key stakeholders responsible for executive security plans.
- Ability to develop and manage high level of talent.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; master’s degree preferred
4 years equivalent work experience and job knowledge in lieu of a degree

Salary : $74,250 - $90,794
