Benefits EligibleMonday - Friday 9am - 5pm or 8am - 4pm (Flexible) Job Overview : As a Health Center Training Specialist, you will play a vital role in training new Health Center Assistants. By supporting the consistent and efficient training of our HCAs, you will be advancing our agency’s mission to provide high-quality, compassionate, non-judgmental care to patients throughout our affiliate. This is an hourly, non-exempt position. Qualifications : A successful Training Specialist will model best practices in patient care, take initiative, be motivated by challenge, have a positive outlook and will be willing to jump in when needed. Strong organization and communication skills required. A willingness to travel to train staff is a must. A customer service orientation, attention to detail a positive attitude are required. Prior PPRM health center experience required. Prior experience with electronic medical records required. Previous on-the-job training experience preferred. Experience in abortion care preferred. Experience in managing team or program logistics preferred. Demonstrated critical thinking and initiative required. Reliable transportation required. Bilingual in Spanish required.
Primary Areas of Responsibility / Essential Functions :
Group Facilitation and Training
Teach program curricula and lesson plans to specified audiences according to department need.Respond to feedback from L&D Manager, making necessary changes to platform skills, content, and delivery methods as directed by the Manager.Stay on top of practice and agency changes and proactively update content as indicated.Travel to other sites as needed to deliver programming.Maintain and promote program goals and objectives.Manage a schedule of regular and as needed facilitation sessions.On-the-Job Training
Provide onsite training and observe staff, providing constructive feedback and coaching to ensure compliance and comprehension. of, as well as constructive feedback.Travel to health centers throughout the PPRM system to provide one-day to multi-day onsite trainings.Utilize and develop training tools to provide consistent and up-to-date training to HC staff.Training topics will include utilizing electronic health records, patient education, front desk customer service, billing, and insurance, performing labs and vitals, and adherence to PPRM, state and federal regulatory requirements.Give constructive, timely feedback to HCAs, Health Center Managers, Assistant Managers, and L&D Manager regarding new staff’s adherence to training best practices and training progress.In collaboration with Preceptors and other HC Training Specialists, complete checkpoints with HCMs and HCAs throughout the training path to ensure training is complete in a timely manner.Training Program Support :
In collaboration with L&D Managers, Health Center Managers, Assistant Health Center Managers and Regional Operations Managers, oversee the scheduling of Preceptors to ensure the timely training of new HCAs. This includes developing and distributing training paths.Meet HCAs at New Employee Orientation and present them with their training pathway and other onboarding documents.Work with L&D Managers to ensure training materials are up-to-date and accessible onsite for Preceptors.Maintain records of new HCA training progress and communicate with Preceptors to ensure onsite training is completed in a timely manner.Provide administrative support and logistics for training programs.Other Key Essential Functions :
Oversee the documentation of completion of training programming for any staff.Actively work to address and reduce abortion stigma.Promote and demonstrate the In This Together Values, Service Standards and REACT.Proactively spot issues and bring insight to places where identity, equity, and power intersect your work.Promote and maintain positive communication with patients, peers, managers, clinicians, and administration.Own and help on other events and projects as needed.Attend trainings to acquire and enhance training skills and subject matter knowledge.Perform any additional duties to promote training success.Participate in abortion services (participation can include referrals, information, education, counseling, performing, scheduling, etc.)Other duties as assigned.Abortion Care : We all work in abortion care, whether it is referrals, information, education, counseling, performing, scheduling, etc. In this role, you will provide leadership for abortion providers and direct care, education, and services for patients who have or may be seeking abortion care with PPRM.
