What are the responsibilities and job description for the FIMS/CAIS and Workspace Support position at Planned Systems International, Inc.?
Overview
This position provides support for the Department of Energy FIMS and CAIS database, and NREL's space management database, Workspace.
- Assist with annual walkthroughs and perform annual asset management services to maintain data as it changes or is created.
- Provide FIMS and AAIM annual standard and adhoc reports as requested.
- Work with SMEs on data validation for each data element and gather all required source documentation.
- Provide support for Workspace, including but not limited to: monitoring Workspace support email box, manage Workspace move requests, manage Space, Move, and Space Reservation modules.
- Update and maintain the accuracy of the graphic floor plans in Workspace.
- Follow all ESH&Q policies and procedures to ensure and maintain a safe working environment.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Language – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical – Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning – Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Judgment and Decision-making – Few precedents and/or procedures are readily available; work requires frequently handling specialized situations that have a moderate to high impact on the department/organization; most work is complex and completed independently by considering different courses of action and refining methods or developing techniques to solve problems; work is typically reviewed only at completion.
- Department of Energy FIMS and CAIS databases
- IWMS / CAFM database administration (FM:Systems, Archibus, Tririga, etc.)
- Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines.
- Considerable knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures, and practices related to specific field.
- Strong leadership, project management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use various computer software programs.
- Excellent oral and written communicator with diverse staff (engineering, maintenance, research staff, support staff, center directors, office directors, executive management, and DOE)
Minimum Requirements
Education/Experience – Relevant Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design and 5 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience.
Licenses & Certifications – Registration as a licensed architect or similar relevant certifications desired.
Clearance – Must be able to obtain NREL site security access.
Other – Must pass background, reference, and drug screen.
Physical Demands
Physical demands and working conditions are those of a typical office environment, including sitting and using a computer for extended periods of time. Physical effort such as lifting, pulling, or pushing is generally not required. Position requires close vision, namely for use of computer and reviewing documents. Position requires occasional travel and outdoor field work, including exposure to weather conditions, traversing uneven or sloping terrain, and exposure to hazards related to logging operations such as slash and equipment.
