We are looking for an exceptional person to join our bar and apothecary team as the leader of our Asheville bar. Plant Bar is a newly launched sister company of Asheville Dispensary and is a non-alcoholic coffee, tea and zero-proof cocktail lounge concept. We offer an experience for the customers when they enter our facilities - they are never merely buying a beverage. We are an axis for health, knowledge, and relaxation.
We are looking for someone with a strong skill set who knows how to successfully run, manage and grow a team and brand. We are growing and expanding our bar presence drastically, and aim to become a leading space in Asheville for the highest quality coffee, tea, herbs, and beverage experiences. We need a true leader and visionary to help shape and lead our vision. We want someone who desires to grow with the company and invest their time, energy, and heart into bringing Plant Bar to the front of the coffee and tea scene.
Our bar and apothecary offerings are vast, diverse, unique, and deeply intentional. We work with direct-trade coffee and tea producers to serve artisanal, medicinal coffee and tea experiences. We pride ourselves on offering the highest quality coffee. We offer traditional Chinese tea service - Gong Fu Cha. We also spread plant medicine and magic through a variety of herbal elixirs.
Duties
Your role will be responsible for helping to grow and manage the Plant Bar presence in Asheville. You will be responsible for managing the ins and outs of the bar, and leading our team to be an exceptional presence on the floor. Other bar staff should look to you for leadership, organization, inspiration, and communication. You will assist with training and educating other staff members on the expansive list of plants we work with, checking in with the team regularly and encouraging them to provide the best experiences possible to guests, and will be responsible for maintaining a high level of knowledge on what we do in addition to working behind the elixir bar.
The sharing of knowledge and education is of utmost importance to us here at Asheville Dispensary, and we serve as a community hub and resource for exploring and learning about plant medicine and offerings.
Our goal is to help keep plant medicine at the forefront of Appalachian culture and enhance access to healthy, holistic, vital living for the community.
Requirements
- Managerial experience
- Ability to show leadership and direction at a high level

- Self or professional study of natural medicine and/or plant knowledge
- Awareness of and/or experience in Chinese tea/Gong Fu Cha
- Awareness of and/or experience in artisanal/specialty coffee
- Experience in customer service
- Strong capacity for learning
- Ability to speak with confidence to groups
- Outgoing, friendly, vital personality
Bonus Skills
- Herbalism certification or similar type of education
- Strong understanding of cannabis and its medical/recreational uses
