World leading manufacturing company in the food processing industry is looking for a chemical processing engineer that can work a hybrid schedule and bring quality to a highly functioning processing team.
Purpose of the Job
• Designing and installing new systems of a process nature to improve quality, safety and output.
• Assessing, supporting and troubleshooting systems already installed and utilised for production to increase uptime.
• Evaluate and improve processes in order to improve efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability and maximize profitability
• Formulate, assess and recommend process designs and improvements to enhance process performance, safety and product quality. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety and quality standards.
• Define, plan, and organise all aspects of a project including financial evaluation, control of budgets and timescales to meet the stated objectives of that project.
• Assess and specify all items of plant equipment required for a project, and be able to offer advice to others on plant selection and specification.
• Conduct risk assessments and utilize Process Hazard Analysis tools
• Perform commissioning and testing of new plant or systems, assessing their suitability for their stated purpose, and monitoring the performance once the system is live.
• Plan and implement system and process training, on both new and modified plant to production and maintenance teams.
• Supervise and control any external contractors that are utilised both on and off site during project life cycles to ensure that they are working safely to timescales, budgets and design criteria
Skills / Knowledge and Experience
Skills:
Should have good all round project management skills, and be able to ensure completion of multiple concurrent projects within the stated boundaries of cost, time and quality. Good analytical approach to problem solving coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate and influence effectively at all levels, both internally and externally. Should have familiarity with process improvement methodologies.
Knowledge:
Should be able to offer expertise on process plant design, evaluation, and construction materials and methods. Should have working knowledge of OSHA and ASME. Practical knowledge of AutoCAD, in particular the production of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
Experience:
Minimum educated to BSChE, with over 5 years of experience within the process industries. Must be experienced in carrying out Risk Assessments and utilizing process hazard analysis tools.
