Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of an Accounting Associate is to monitor the bank’s accounts payable transactions related to vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and all other payables. This position will ensure timely payments and adherence to bank policies and procedures while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal bank departments. The Accounting Associate is also responsible for maintaining the bank’s fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Receive, review, and verify all invoices for proper documentation and accuracy
· Distribute invoices for approval
· Review and process approved invoices for payment through the accounts payable software
· Prepare and process payments for approved invoices in a timely manner
· Scan paid invoices into the accounts payable software for attachment to payment record
· Mail invoices and checks to vendors
· Maintain accurate records of vendor information, including contact details and payment terms
· Maintain W-9 forms for vendors
· Perform analysis and research of all open accounts payable issues
· Assist the operations department at year end with reports for 1099 preparation
· Perform balancing for the bank's correspondent accounts
· Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
· Prepare and record monthly depreciation general journal entries
· Maintain weekly Federal Reserve schedule of pledged collateral values
· Prepare monthly collateral schedule report for Federal Reserve Borrower in Custody
· Prepare monthly Kentucky Consumer Use tax return
· Prepare quarterly Uniform Bank Performance Report recap of other banks
· Prepare various monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations
· Other accounting duties as needed
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education is a plus.
- Associate degree or higher, preferred.
- Previous accounting and/or accounts payable experience. Preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Detail Oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies and issues promptly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
