Teller Supervisor Job Description
Bank Tellers are entrusted with the most important part of a financial institution’s customer service initiatives:
- They interact with customers, perform basic computational tasks, and explain bank transactions to their customers when needed.
- They need to be very vigilant and educated about fraud, ensuring that bills and checks are not counterfeit.
- A Teller needs to be friendly and professional at “ALL” times and have a calm, patient demeanor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Safekeeping of all currency within the teller area and main vault.
- Maintains proper levels of cash control to within established amounts.
- Ensures tellers deliver superior customer service.
- Resolves complaints for customers.
- Monitors adherence to Planters Bank policies and procedures.
- Schedules the Teller staff.
- Reviews timecards, monitors employee absences.
- Provides check approval.
- Ships and receives money from the Federal Reserve.
- Conducts daily teller settlements with general ledger and proof.
- Research teller outages and reports to Operations Manager any outages found.
- Product knowledge, product sales and product referrals are a requirement.
- Maintains inventory control over cashier’s checks, traveler’s checks, interest checks.
- Conducts required audits and alarm tests.
- Coaches’ tellers to improve job performance, recognize achievements and contributions.
- Performs any duties requested by a supervisor/officer relating to the bank and its’ functions.
- Ensures compliance with all Federal and State banking laws, regulations, and rules.
- Great customer service is a priority, without customers the bank would not exist!
- May back up CSR from time to time.
- Will be on Saturday rotation schedule.
- Always maintain a high level of confidence.
- And, as directed, may perform other duties from time to time.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent of. Extended education a plus. Ability to perform all over-the-counter customer services. Exercise accuracy, alertness, good judgment, courtesy, tact, and patience. Knowledge of computers and the ability to maneuver through the teller system with confidence.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
