Interior Horticulture Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Tropical Plants, Indoor Plants, Interior Houseplants!!!!!! Maintains and assists with contracted interior landscape/ indoor tropical plants. Including but not limited to all horticulture maintenance, inventory controls, sales, plant procurement, account preparation, and customer relations. This position requires lifting, watering, cleaning, boxing, and any other need associated with our interior landscape/plantscape service business. We request a presentable appearance, valid driver's license, comfort driving company vehicles, interior plant knowledge, computer knowledge (ie. Using a computer and email) and a desire to learn. We are looking for a person with an outgoing personality that can think for themselves and accomplish things that need to be done, while taking the best possible care of our commercial landscape accounts.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Professional Account Maintenance- Assist with weekly watering schedule, weekly pest control, property upkeep (cleaning, watering, maintaining plants) at approximately 50- 75 professional locations
• Interior Tropical Plant Health Maintenance- Assist with maintenance of all plants with proper insect and disease controls, Assist with all new arrivals and inventory as needed
• Interior Tropical Plant Preparation- Preparing plants for new installations, rentals and customer purchases to include leaf cleaning, organization of orders, and packaging for delivery
• Interior Tropical Plant Delivery- Handle deliveries, replacements, and new installations alone or with assistance by using our delivery vehicle and products
• Shipments- Ability to load and unload large shipments of plants and organize appropriately throughout the greenhouse and prepare for account distribution
• Weekly Communication- Proper communication to all team members and supervisory staff
• Marketing Assistance- Offsite promotion/ sales within accounts and work environment
• Account Maintenance- The main requirement of this position is to maintain weekly accounts keeping plants alive and healthy, minimizing loss through disease or improper care
• Interior Tropical Plant Allocation- The ability to lift up to 100 lbs. on occasion, move plants around by cart, lift and move plants by carrying for installation or location changes
• Flexible- This position has multiple functions that are integral to the function of our business. You must be flexible with your daily duties as they may sometimes change
• Independent - Maintains our work environment independently and as a full visual representative of our company. Also be able to think and figure things out on your own.
• Helpful- The ability to help out when needed and avoid when not. Assist Supervisors as needed.
• Interior Tropical Plant Knowledge- To assess, diagnose, determine plant health. plant needs, and conditions. Properly assessing treatment plans and bringing plant back to status quo.
• Private Home Maintenance- The ability to professionally work in customer homes while performing required plant maintenance tasks quietly and respectfully.
• Cleanliness- Always cleaning up after yourself and leaving locations and business accounts better than when you found them.

Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma or GED requested
• Previous plant tech experience a bonus, but we know how to train people who love plants!!
• Computer Knowledge – ability to use the internet, emails, and cell phones as they are a daily component of the job!!!
• Business Minded- Know how to maintain a business and all products associated with that business
• Language- Must be able to read, write, and process English in order to communicate properly with all staff and customers
• Basic Photography Skills- For documentation of accounts, issues, and potential replacements
• Physical Needs- Must be able to lift 100 lbs and be able to move comfortably throughout an entire workday
• Plant Knowledge- Houseplant knowledge is helpful, but we will be happy to train anyone who enjoys and loves indoor tropical plants!!

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
