Company Description :
Plastic Molding Technology (PMT) manufactures high precision plastic parts for automotive, telecommunications, medical device, renewable energy, and industrial customers. The primary manufacturing processes are injection molding and thermoforming. PMT has ~100 injection molding presses at its two primary manufacturing locations in El Paso, TX and Centennial, CO (a suburb of Denver). A third facility in Longmont, CO (a suburb of Denver) provides in-house repair and fabrication of tools & dies.
Role Description :
Manages the usage of labor and equipment to achieve maximum efficiency with optimum quality while maintaining customer on-time delivery. Supervises production floor, scheduling, and planning.
What you will do :
- Interface with Customers, Scheduling, Production team and / or Purchasing departments to maintain optimum levels of customer service with respect to production orders
- Oversee production floor personnel to achieve OTD of quality parts to the customers
- Work with Engineering and Quality to launch all NPI and transfer projects into full production
- Manage master production schedule to achieve plant utilization goals
- Lead a culture of safety and cleanliness throughout the production facility
- Support a culture of scientific molding principles amongst the technical team
- Actively trains and mentors subordinates
- Provide required daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to upper management
- Run daily production meetings with team leaders to ensure priorities are met for each day
- Work closely with Engineering and Quality to schedule engineering sample runs
- Work closely with Tool Room and Maintenance departments to schedule mold / machine preparedness
- Supervise planning by maintaining direct and indirect labor efficiency and utilization, while minimizing overtime costs
- Support lean initiatives (Kanban, Kaizen, one-piece flow, 5S) and other continuous improvement events to maximize operational efficiency while maintaining budget requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
