What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Operator 2nd Shift position at Plasticade?
JOB PURPOSE: To ensure high-quality production of recycled rubber products by safely and efficiently mixing, weighing, spreading and cooking to the specified recipe of each product.
2nd shift = $22.50 Hours: Monday - Thursday 4:00pm to 2:30am; sometimes need to work until 4:00am; occasional work on Friday night

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Efficiently operate conventional press or shuttle using best practices.
- Lift, bend, twist and maneuver 50 pounds constantly for a 10- or 12-hour shift; 65lbs occasionally.
- Trim around rubber products using a razor knife, ensuring product is not damaged in the process.
- Neatly stack product on skids with proper label.
- Count and properly record good and bad product.
- Make sure all products meet quality standards.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness of plant by keeping the machinery clean, sweeping, blowing off rubber, etc.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures while handling materials and operating equipment; wear required PPE.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Good math skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work occasional mandatory overtime.
- Must be fluent in English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Use both hands to remove finished product from press.
- Manual dexterity to use both hands while trimming rubber product using a razor knife.
- Heavy lifting.
- Physical stamina to handle physical labor in a hot environment.
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and/or squatting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to work in a noisy, hot, dirty, non-climate-controlled environment with non-toxic fumes.
