Key Responsibilities
- Configure and set up automated assembly machines and systems for plastic components, ensuring alignment with production specifications and quality standards.
- Perform regular maintenance and repair tasks on automated assembly equipment, including robotic arms, conveyors, and assembly stations. Address mechanical, electrical, and software issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Work with engineering and production teams to identify areas for process improvement. Implement and test changes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and improve product consistency.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to automated assembly processes. Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Calibrate automated equipment to ensure precise assembly operations and adherence to product specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, system configurations, and troubleshooting incidents. Prepare reports on equipment performance and process improvements.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures. Conduct regular safety checks on automated systems and ensure that all equipment complies with safety regulations.
- Train production staff on the operation and maintenance of automated assembly systems. Provide technical support and guidance as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure smooth integration of automated systems and to address any operational challenges.
- Associate’s degree in Automation Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Relevant certifications in automation or industrial maintenance (e.g., IPC, PMP) are advantageous.
- 2-4 years of experience working with automated assembly systems in a plastic manufacturing environment, preferably with plastic components.
- Proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of automated assembly machinery, including robotics and conveyor systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
- Knowledge of plastic assembly processes and quality control.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and potentially hazardous materials.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in varying temperatures.
- May require shift work, overtime, or on-call availability for emergency situations.
