Job Description
- Payroll process for exempt and non-exempt staff in California.
- Educate workforce on any changes to the wage and payment laws for California.
- Perform periodic evaluations to ensure compliance with environmental permits, plans, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and Administer Safety Programs to promote Safety Awareness.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
- Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
- Responsible for updating computerized personnel databases, in compliance with federal, state, and local laws; maintenance of accurate service records for active employees and inactive employees; and, in the compilation and maintenance of appropriate affirmative action reports and all other reports as required.
- Update employee records with changes and/or corrections in employment status, including salary, position information, scheduled hours, and personal information.
- Effectively recruit, hire and on-board line level and management employees according to staffing guidelines.
- Responsible for orientation of new hourly and salaried employees to the plant policies, procedures, regulations, safety rules, and benefits to assure that they understand conditions and benefits of employment.
- Create and publish job postings in various portals.
- Responds to employee relations issues and employee complaints. Conducts workplace investigations with the assistance of the HR Manager.
- Handles employee relations issues, counseling and exit interviews.
- Coaches, counsels, and guides supervisors/managers before executing employee disciplinary actions for non-exempt personnel.
- Coordinates company events which include but are not limited to management luncheons, annual Thanksgiving luncheon, charitable programs, and employee recognition programs.
- Reviews and processes FMLA/Leave of Absence paperwork for California.
- Gather and report Key Performance Indicators data and distribute the monthly KPI'S and organization charts.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or relevant field required.
- 7 years HR-related experience required.
- 5 years experience in Payroll Processing required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Hands-on experience with job sites.
- Knowledge of sourcing techniques on social media and niche professional websites like LinkedIn and Facebook.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Experience with full-cycle recruitment processes and ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple open positions simultaneously, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
