Job Summary :
The Outside Sales Representative in Rental and Production is responsible for developing new business within their territory and servicing existing VLS (Vincent Lighting Systems) customers through a consultative sales approach.
This development includes onsite sales consultation, responding to customer proposal requests, and cold customer development.
Sales results and profitable outcomes for both the company and the salesperson measure success.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Develop, nurture, and convert potential business leads into qualified opportunities.
- Participates in phone calls, in-person meetings, web conferences, and other activities to introduce clients to VLS.
- Write, revise, and deliver all proposals to prospects or customers.
- Develop, maintain, and convert a list of potential leads and customers in various market segments, including cold calls.
- Own customer relations from project inception through project closeout.
- Complete needs analysis, product demonstrations, and other proactive activities to support opportunity development.
- Collaborate with creative professionals inside and outside VLS.
- On a bi-annual basis, review and revise pricing models with management to continuously improve margins wherever possible.
- Meet yearly sales goals.
- Leads the closing process on every opportunity to deliver well-prepared orders to VLS project managers.
- Participate in weekly sales meetings and be part of the issues discussion workflow.
- Work with management annually to develop next year’s sales budget.
Qualifications & Education :
- BA or BFA in theatre or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in lighting and AV for the live events industry is preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to foster and maintain customer relationships.
