Tool & Die Maker III
Location: SOUTH MINNEAPOLIS OR WOODBURY; BOTH 1st AND 2nd SHIFTS AVAILABLE
Wage: Up to $41.00/hr DOE
Shifts Available:
- 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:15 p.m. - 11:45 p.m. or Monday-Thursday, 3:15 p.m. - 1:45 a.m.

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tool & Die Maker III to join our team. This position requires expertise in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting tooling and dies, along with a deep understanding of progressive and semi-permanent dies. Ideal candidates should have at least 6 years of experience in tool and die making, as well as the ability to work from complex blueprints and perform advanced machining operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, or repair intricate tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures to extremely close tolerances.
- Build and troubleshoot new tooling based on design specifications and customer requirements.
- Modify existing tooling as needed.
- Perform work involving multi-station progressive dies, intricate compound dies, and index milling fixtures.
- Conduct highly skilled fitting, adjusting, and timing of tools and machinery.
- Utilize various toolroom equipment, including surface grinders, drill presses, Bridgeport mills, CNC lathes, and other technologies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair tooling to meet production needs.
- Follow ISO procedures and instructions to ensure quality and safety standards.
- Perform advanced shop mathematics and use all types of precision measuring instruments.
- Apply thorough knowledge of machine shop practices in daily operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Possess or be willing to purchase the required inspection and hand tools upon accepting the job offer.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and GD&T.
- Experience operating and maintaining toolroom machinery safely and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of Tool & Die making experience (7 years preferred).
- Experience with progressive dies and metal stamping tooling.
- CNC / Machine Tool Technology degree or certificate (Preferred).
