What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Preschool Teacher/Substitute position at Play and Prep Preschool?
Required Skills and Experience:
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential obtained or CDA in process required or Associate’s Degree in ECE or Child Development strongly preferred
- Experience working in a licensed childcare facility strongly preferred
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain prior to start date
- current background check available or must complete prior to hiring.
Play and Prep Preschool staff must have the ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and learning happens. They must also have the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively.
Our classes spend time outside every day.
Be responsible for the health, safety, and the welfare of all children. This includes helping children to stay warm and dry in inclement weather, managing risk in an outdoor setting, and addressing student conflicts.
Be generally aware of special projects like painting that may require additional hands.
Assist with centers and transitions including dressing and undressing for the outdoors.
