Job Title: Summer Camp Director
Location: Desert Color HOA Community
Job Description: As a Summer Camp Director at the Desert Color HOA Community, you will be in charge of all camp counselors and be pitching in for creating a fun and engaging environment for children attending the camp. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of all camp participants. This position requires individuals who are responsible, reliable, and great with kids.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise all camp counselors ensuring a smooth daily routine.
Supervise and interact with children during various camp activities, including sports, games, pool, and outdoor adventures.
Ensure the safety of all camp participants by closely monitoring activities and enforcing camp rules and guidelines.
Assist in the planning and organization of daily activities and events.
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes teamwork, respect, and personal growth among campers.
Serve as a positive role model for camp participants, exhibiting leadership skills and a positive attitude.
Communicate effectively with camp staff, parents, and campers to address any concerns or issues that may arise.
Provide assistance and support to campers with special needs or accommodations as necessary.
Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and any necessary paperwork.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements for camp director: In addition to the general counselor responsibilities mentioned above, applicants for the camp director position must possess the following qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years' experience working with kids.
Lifeguard Certification: Applicants applying for the Camp Director Lead & Assistant Lead Counselor positions must hold a valid lifeguard certification from a recognized training program. This certification should include training in water safety, rescue techniques, and CPR/AED certification.
CPR/AED Certification: Applicants applying for the Lead & Assistant Lead Counselor positions must have a current certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator). This certification should cover both adult and child CPR/AED techniques.
Note: Lifeguard and CPR/AED certifications are not mandatory for general counselor positions, but they are required for those applying for the Lead/Assistant Lead Counselor role.
