GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Youth & Family Director the position supervises groups of children and implements YMCA activities.
LOCATION: We are currently hiring at all 4 of our YMCA of Southern Nevada locations: Durango Hills, Centennial Hills, Skyview, and Heinrich.
DATES: Mandatory training will be held from May17th - May 22nd. Camp begins on Tuesday, May 27th and runs Monday - Friday throughout the summer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
(1) LEADS and PARTICIPATES in group activities and PERFORMS related skills
(e.g., crafts, STEAM, sports, reading, and games).
(2) FOLLOWS specific YMCA Camp Standard Operating Procedures
(e.g., check-in/out of participants, parent greeting, cleaning and straightening of supplies in the area).
(3) IMPLEMENTS program activities and special events.
(4) PROMOTES and EMBRACES Character Development in curriculum.
(5) SERVES as a positive role model for program participants.
(6) BUILDS and MAINTAINS a high-standard of member service for all program participants.
(7) PROMOTES safety as an overriding objective in all programming efforts.
(8) PERFORMS all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training.
CERTIFICATES, TRAININGS, REGISTRATIONS:
- Summer Camp Training - Mandatory training May 17th - 22nd
- Working with Children training within 30 days of hire
- Current American Red Cross Certifications in CPR and First Aid within 30 days of hire
- 18 years or older preferred
Salary : $13 - $14
