Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Visual Arts Teacher to inspire and educate students in the fundamentals of visual arts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in art education and a commitment to fostering creativity and self-expression among students. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans, facilitating art projects, and creating an inclusive classroom environment that supports the diverse needs of all learners.

Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with educational standards and promote artistic skills.
  • Teach various visual arts techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their artistic development.
  • Integrate literacy education into art lessons to enhance students' understanding of concepts.
  • Utilize learning technology to enhance instruction and engage students in their learning process.
  • Provide tutoring support for students who may need additional assistance in mastering art concepts.
  • Collaborate with special education staff to accommodate the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Maintain an organized classroom space that showcases student artwork and promotes a love for the arts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting is essential.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in education.
  • Familiarity with special education strategies and working with students with disabilities is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey artistic concepts.
  • Ability to create an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Experience in childcare or tutoring is beneficial for supporting student learning needs.
  • A passion for visual arts and a commitment to nurturing creativity in students.
