About the Role.
On occasion, PlayCV encounters a need for Substitute Instructors. The need may range to covering while another employee is out for a day or a longer period of time. Other opportunities may present when enrollment numbers are higher for certain events.
PlayCV recognizes our sub pool with the same level of opportunites as a temporay employee. Opportunities to attend trainings, experience leading classroom instruction with students, and develop skills and relationships towards longer term employment if desired.
Substitutes have the ability to accept or decline shifts when presented, or may express interest in regular placement with a firm level of commitment. Flexibility towards the need of the substitute is presented with each shift opportunity.
Substitutes will work alongside other The Full PLAY Instructors and is responsible for providing high-quality after-school programs for youth and their families in a structured and supportive environment. Working with a team, the TFP Instructor facilitates enrichment, recreation, educational opportunities, and fun experiences for students, including arts and crafts, outdoor games, and homework support. The position requires someone who is passionate about youth development, has experience working with elementary and/or middle school-aged children, and possesses strong problem-solving skills, flexibility, and punctuality. This is a part-time position with flexible hours and requires a LiveScan background check and evidence of a negative TB test within the last 24 months.
The TFP Instructors work with students from the last bell at the end of the school day until the latest pickup time of 6 p.m., every day.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the safety of our students which includes the following: maintaining appropriate student-to-instructor ratios, maintaining the schedule for all students, monitoring students to ensure compliance with TFP rules and prevent accidents, cleaning, maintaining and ensuring proper use of TFP facilities and equipment, reporting and recording details of incidents, such as accidents or rule violations, to parents and TFP staff, being knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and safety guidelines and enforcing TFP rules.
- Facilitating and supporting enrichment, recreation, educational opportunities, and fun experiences for students.
- Implementing supplemental enrichment activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor games, in-house and outsourced enrichment classes, art, homework support, and guiding student behavior, social, academic, and career development.
- Developing and refining enrichment activities such as classes, demonstrations, challenges, and just plain fun.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Team Captain/Team Coaches.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
