Job Title: Summer Adaptive Assistant (Temporary/Seasonal) May 12th- August 18th

Job Location: Pleasant Grove Recreation Center
Hours & Pay: Part Time (20-29 hrs a week), $18 hr
Job Summary: As the Adaptive Assistant, you will meet with the Coordinator once a week to review responsibilities for the upcoming week. You will assist in adaptive activities and classes throughout the week, ensuring that all participants have a positive experience. Tasks may include running errands for the Coordinator to gather supplies or materials needed for activities. You should be available for contact by the Coordinator at any point during the week. Additionally, you will assist with setting up and taking down equipment, as well as ensuring that participants feel comfortable, supported, and engaged.
Responsibilities:
- Monday Meetings
- Adaptive Adventure activities every Thursday, ages 13
- Berry Special Festival (June 19th, Strawberry Day's)
- Take charge in planning and conducting Jr Adventures Camp, ages 8-12, (dates TBD)
- Attend Water Aerobics with participants (dates TBD)
- Take videos and pictures throughout activities
- Help advertise and promote our upcoming activities
- Assist in searching for equipment for activities (such as fishing rods and bait for our fishing activity)
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 yrs
- Available for all responsibilities listed above (if there are conflicts, we can discuss what that will look like)
- Is comfortable carrying a moderate amount of weight and engaging in physical activities
- CPR Certified
- Background Check
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
- Worked with individuals with Special Needs
Working Conditions:
- Most of the time, we will be outside and working hard. Please be prepared to work in the summer heat.
