This unique role is a 50/50 blend of maintenance duties and transportation services for our residents. If you have a strong work ethic, enjoy interacting with people, and have the skills necessary to maintain a facility, we would love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of buildings and grounds.
- Ensure all equipment and systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) are in safe and working order.
- Address minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues.
- Respond to on-call repair needs promptly and effectively.
- Assist with general facility upkeep tasks, such as painting, drywall repair, and cleaning.
- Help with snow removal and salting of walkways during the winter months.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe living environment for residents.
- Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Director.
Transportation Duties:
- Transport residents to and from medical appointments, social outings, and scheduled activities.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of residents during transport, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, well-maintained vehicle for transportation purposes.
- Communicate effectively with residents, ensuring a positive and caring interaction.
- Ensure timely and safe delivery to and from appointments and events.
- Adhere to all local and state driving regulations, and maintain a safe driving record.
Requirements:
- Proven handyman skills and general knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- A valid driver's license in good standing with a clean driving record.
- Experience with vehicle operation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with residents and staff.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to help in various situations.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents.
