Greenhouse Supervisor

We are excited to be hiring for a Greenhouse Supervisor. We are seeking an ambitious, reliable and adaptable candidate who has passion and appreciation for the production of plants. This candidate is responsible for the production process of bedding plants including inventory tracking, pest management, plant health, order pulling, and the management of the staff during scheduled shifts.

Prerequisite:

• Resume should identify past greenhouse/growing experience
• Management experience is preferred
• Experience with basic Integrated Pest Management
• A MN Pesticide License will be required within 30 days of hire

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plant health, pest management, and plant nutrition
• Maintain an organized & clean greenhouse environment
• Inventory tracking, order pulling, stocking of inventory
• Unloading deliveries
• Understanding plant requirements, including watering, fertilization, and overall plant health
• Understanding the PVG standards including thoroughness, accuracy, and timeliness
• Watering, weeding, fertilizing, and deadheading of various varieties of plants
• Producing plant material from plug stock and seed in the greenhouses

Work Schedule: Full Time (40 hours - 8 hours shifts/5 days a week). Seasonal from mid-March through mid-June. Alternating weekends required. There is opportunity to join the garden maintenance team from mid-June-November.

Job Types: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour/based on experience

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
  
• Open or Closing shift (approximately 7am-3:30 or 11:30 -8pm shift, depending on sunrise/sunset times)
  
• Weekend availability required
