Our Transportation team is currently searching for a new Transportation Coordinator/ Dispatcher to add to the team. This role will be crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of our products to the customers. Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor, you'll work with the drivers to plan and organize efficient route deliveries in accordance with the DOT regulations as well as notifying consumers of the progress of their orders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Produce accurate paperwork for delivery route assignments for transportation personnel in a timely manner
- Monitor deliveries from drivers including Direct Hire, Seasonal, and 3rd Party associates
- Ensure communication of issues on the road, late deliveries and other instances of traveling issues
- Manage and track labor and time clock reports to ensure correct payroll
- Supervise labor and management time clock reports to ensure accurate scans
- Review workload distribution and ensure work is evenly divided between transportation personnel
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
- Create and maintain newsletter to share company news and departmental updates with drivers
- Assist with monthly safety tailgate meetings
- Ensure daily equipment checks and equipment tracking
- Document shortages and discrepancies and provide this information to the appropriate logistics team member for resupply
- Assist with off season SOP adjustments
- Additional duties as required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Intermediate ability working with Microsoft Office & ERP Inventory Tracking systems.
- Knowledge of DOT HOS and other laws regarding CDL Drivers.
- Possess excellent time management, organizational, decision making and problem solving skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with external customers and coworkers.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels to complete assignments.
Education, Certification and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Business Administration preferred
- 1-3 years related experience, preferably in a dispatch transportation setting.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
