GENERAL SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations during the second shift at a food manufacturing facility. This role ensures production efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met while maintaining a smooth workflow. The Assistant Operations Manager leads and motivates the second-shift team, monitors performance, and implements continuous improvement initiatives to support operational goals.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Supervise and coordinate second-shift operations to meet production schedules and customer
    • Provide direction, training, and support to production staff to ensure productivity, safety, and quality standards are maintained.
    • Ensure all products meet company and regulatory quality and food safety Collaborate with Quality Assurance to address issues promptly.
    • Monitor the shift environment for safety hazards and enforce compliance with OSHA, HACCP, GMPs, and other food safety protocols.
    • Track production metrics, analyze performance data, and identify areas for Provide feedback to team members and escalate issues to the Production Manager when needed.
    • Ensure proper functioning of equipment and coordinate with maintenance staff for repairs and preventative maintenance.
    • Maintain accurate records of shift activities, production output, and incident Provide detailed reports to the Production Manager.
    • Work closely with the first-shift team to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of
    • Address and resolve any operational challenges, including staffing issues, production delays, or quality concerns.
    • Must meet the eligibility requirements to apply for a special license to operate the facility's

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field
    • Proficient in conflict resolution and fostering team
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
    • HACCP, GMP, and OSHA training Bilingual skills are a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or

    • Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, food allergens and gas.

Pay Range

USD $34.00 - USD $36.00 /Hr.
