Accounts Receivables - Senior
Work Hours: Full Time, Monday - Friday, in office
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Branch(s): Meriden, CT 06450
Position Purpose:
Effectively supervise AR team and handle the accounts receivable and posting of cash, checks, and credit card function for assigned branches and/or customers. Ensure the timely and accurate processing of customer invoices and payments. Able to effectively communicate through phone and email to internal and external customers.
Essential Functions:
- Accurately performs financial transactions which include but are not limited to classifying, computing, preparing, posting, verifying and recording accounts receivable information.
- Processes incoming payments in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensures that all payments are accounted for and posted correctly.
- Prepares invoices and receipts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Generates financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.
- Facilitates invoice payments by sending reminders and contacting clients for past due invoices.
- Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent account holders to request payment.
- Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
- Resolves discrepancies and billing issues Responds to payment inquiries, recognizes issues, problems, or opportunities and determines whether action is needed.
- Accurately maintains documentation and files in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Understands the distribution business, the product sold, and the customers served.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers and coworkers
- Assist with addressing NSF checks and refund checks
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Experience, Education & Skills:
- Five years accounts receivable experience preferred.
- Experience using current hardware and software including Microsoft Office.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
- Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects. Involves sitting most of the time, with walking and standing occasionally.
Salary : $22 - $26
