Overview
The Satellite Office Leader (SOL) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the PLS Tampa branch office, including sales, operations, and financial performance. This role requires a dynamic leader who can drive market share growth, revenue expansion, and operational excellence while ensuring diversification across service modes.
The SOL will mentor and develop sales trainees and Account Executives, manage sales quotas, and collaborate with the corporate office to optimize branch sales performance.
Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Lead and develop the brokerage sales team, including training, mentoring, performance management, and retention.
- Drive revenue and achieve budgeted growth targets.
- Manage sales quotas and assign customer accounts to Account Executives (AEs).
- Oversee lead distribution and assignment to maximize sales efficiency.
- Monitor individual and branch sales performance (daily, weekly, monthly).
- Support key customer growth by developing and implementing strategic account plans.
Operations & Financial Management
- Manage the branch’s profit and loss (P&L) and ensure revenue/margin thresholds are met.
- Work with Finance to ensure accurate billing and collections within company standards.
- Collaborate with IT to define business requirements for system enhancements.
- Ensure branch infrastructure (systems, facilities, phone lines, software) supports company growth and culture objectives.
Coaching & Team Development
- Directly coach Sales and Operations Managers on leadership, motivation, and business management.
- Improve effectiveness of AEs and Sales Trainees through coaching, training, and mentorship.
- Conduct weekly sales status reviews and track trainee progress.
- Maintain strong team dynamics and morale to foster a high-performance culture.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor revenue and profit trends, taking proactive steps to optimize results.
- Supply competitive rate quotes to customers and update brokerage metrics.
- Work cross-functionally with other PLS departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Resolve tactical issues related to revenue generation, customer service, and administrative support.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required
- 5 year of prior sales experience
- 3 years of experience within the logistics industry
