The Production Planner will manage the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure the company meets all deadlines. Duties include managing material and equipment availability, scheduling production, managing raw material inventory levels, ensuring feeder departments supply materials assembly departments in a timely manner, ensuring materials are stocked in an organized manner.
Production Planner duties and responsibilities
A Production Planner ensures the production process goes smoothly by making sure all of the appropriate parts are in place and ready to go. Some of the typical Production Planner job duties and responsibilities include:
- Planning, scheduling and coordinating production of the company’s products
- Evaluating raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production
- Coordinating with Supervisors and Managers regarding required shift hours
- Reporting on the production status and any production issues to upper management
- Handling production disruptions and productivity problems
- Finding ways to improve productivity and reduce costs
- Managing the production schedules to anticipate necessary production changes
Job Requirements
· Thorough understanding of Manufacturing Processes
· Experience with raw material inventory
