Responsibilities
What Will I do?
- Calculate and process a weekly payroll for all company employees, including regular pay, overtime, commissions, bonuses, deductions, and taxes
- Compile all relevant payroll files/information from multiple systems and department managers to process a weekly payroll
- Review all payroll data for accuracy before each weekly payroll is processed and posted
- Post payroll data into the company’s accounting system
- Process off cycle and miscellaneous payroll checks as needed
- Stay up to date on current payroll regulations and adhere to all federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee files, timesheets, reimbursement reports, deductions, and tax information
- Ensure that all proper federal, state, and local agency accounts are properly set up for accurate wage reporting and tax payments
- Distribute payroll reports to appropriate internal stakeholders on a weekly basis
- Address employee payroll related questions and concerns when applicable
- Conduct regular payroll audits to identify issues and make corrections as needed
- Work with our payroll processing company to resolve issues and discrepancies
- Other payroll and HR related duties as needed
Qualifications
Do I have What it Takes?
- 3 years of experience in payroll processing
- Bachelors Degree is preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of payroll software and accounting principles
- Strong ethics and ability to keep information confidential
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must type a minimum of 45 words per minute
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to work effectively and with a positive attitude in a high paced environment
- Must be able to communicate clearly with clients and have an outgoing phone personality
- A clean background with the ability to pass a drug test
- Reliable transportation (Attendance is key in this position)
- A strong desire to learn new skills and build a new career
