Seeking a GIS Team Leader

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) on GIS products and services while working closely with ESRI technology and reporting the latest ESRI innovations and technical direction to help drive growth.
- Work with IT personnel to perform system administration tasks and manage projects in an ARC GIS Enterprise environment.
- Analyze current implementation processes and develop improved methodologies.
- Develop mapping applications and tools using low code solutions.
- Aid in the mentoring and training of resources on Plummer’s GIS processes and software.
- Willingness to jump in, define problems and suggest innovative solutions.
- Establish clear, measurable objectives for the GIS Solutions team, monitor & measure these objectives regularly, providing coaching as required.
- Meet monthly revenue goals and work with upper management on performance to forecast.
- Drive GIS market growth by leading client engagement, partnerships, sales cycles, and tailored solutions; manage pipelines, contracts, and proposals while aligning offerings with market needs and enhancing brand presence.
- Technical resource for client’s ongoing GIS needs.
- Manage project resources, schedules, GIS staff members, and budgets.
- Maintain 50% utilization target.
Education and Experience:
- Preferred Experience: Using GIS in the water and wastewater engineering industry is preferred. Experience in the telecommunications industry and/or with utility relocations is also desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major work in physical or natural science, geography, engineering, planning, computer science, a related field or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of experience managing projects and working cohesively with other project managers and team members.
- GIS Professional Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Experience with Esri’s ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Excellent internal and external client written and verbal communication skills as this role is expected to work with various clients.
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new hardware and software components.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
You will be responsible for managing and updating the existing database system and data as well as setting up new database systems; managing data in a highly effective manner to support the program’s data QC plan and protocols; using GIS knowledge and skills to manage spatial components of the data; and providing support to the Developers and Project Managers to facilitate the data management needs during all stages of the process such as inventory updates, data collection, post collection data processing, and reporting.
- Thorough knowledge of principles and techniques of GIS including knowledge of GIS software, data capture, map production, and maintenance techniques in the ArcGIS environment.
- Thorough knowledge of engineering and construction design principles and practices.
- Thorough knowledge of surveying principals.
- Ability to operate GIS software and hardware.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and files.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and sketches.
- Must maintain an awareness of and regularly work within established schedules and budgets.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend and move about.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.
