Position: Legal Assistant (Estate & Trust)

Location: Bloomfield Hills, MI

Plunkett Cooney is seeking a legal assistant to provide support to our growing Estate & Trust Practice Group. This group will consist of 3-4 attorneys and potentially more as the group grows.

To be considered, candidates must:

• Have five or more years of experience in the areas of estate planning and estate/trust administration (preferred)
• Have prior experience with the preparation of fiduciary accountings
• Be proficient in legal document preparation, file management, typing/word processing, telephone coverage, scheduling and billing
• Have experience in preparing pleadings and simple motions
• Have experience with electronic court filing and electronic docketing software
• Be familiar with federal, state and local court rules
• Have good organization, time-management and multitasking skills
• Be experienced with opening of all new files
• Be proficient managing busy calendars between multiple attorneys
• Be proactive in cases with ability to produce high quality documents with short deadlines
• Have great communication and customer service with clients

We are looking for an adaptable legal assistant who is willing to help build a practice. The ideal candidate will be a strong independent worker who can also work collaboratively with their attorney(s), be self-sufficient and serve as a resourceful go-getter.

Plunkett Cooney offers a flexible remote work option subject to performance and training, however, this position will be required to report to the Bloomfield Hills office a minimum three days per week to provide in-office support.
