We are seeking a full time Recovery Specialist to work for a high profile client's fitness center located in San Jose, CA.
Job Overview:
As a Recovery Concierge, you’ll work with the Client and Workplace Well-being team to promote a culture of health. You’ll provide tools and solutions designed to reduce members’ musculoskeletal risks, as well as support all appropriate recovery initiatives and services. You will also maintain a high profile as the “face” of the recovery program.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with the Client to develop an annual calendar of musculoskeletal health related events and programming that will appeal to and engage employees.
- Provide recommendations for tissue work, corrective therapy, fascial work, trigger-point release and exercise, as applicable.
- Encourage program participation via Client-approved marketing materials, particularly in collaboration with your Workplace Well-being Marketing and Engagement colleagues.
- Print and distribute marketing materials to other local offices and facilities as needed.
- Offer presentations on recovery and functional movement.
- Deliver proprietary movement classes designed by the Physical Activity department.
- Report on recovery program utilization, outcomes, success stories and any other metrics.
- Work directly with the on-site fitness team, when applicable, as a part of a comprehensive wellness solution for members.
What we are looking for:
- Knowledgeable about the industry and be equipped with customer skills to network, engage, and interact with all clients, guests, and participants
- Bachelor’s degree in human factors, exercise science, exercise physiology, human kinetics, kinesiology or a related field
- Active state licensure in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Massage Therapy
- Experience with any of the following:
- Manual therapy – may include instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM)
- Stretch therapy – may include passive stretch techniques, active release techniques (ART), fascial stretch therapy (FST), proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), active isolated stretch therapy (AIS).
- Facilitated recovery technology support – may include Percussive SMR equipment, pneumatic compression therapy, hot and cold therapies, infrared therapy, cryotherapy, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), pulsating electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF), and meditation pods.
- Massage therapy – may include a variety of techniques including Swedish, deep tissues, sports, prenatal, trigger point, reflexology, etc.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and creative approach to marketing
- Competence with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and web portals
- Valued but not required:
- Master’s degree in health sciences or a related field Physical Therapy
- National accredited certification in exercise science or personal training (NCCA)

For residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, New York City, and Washington only : The hourly rate for this position ranges from $24.04 - $26.44. Pay is based on several factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, certifications, geographic differentials, and other business and organizational needs. In addition to the hourly rate, Plus One offers a comprehensive benefits package (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements), which includes health insurance, life and disability benefits, 401(k) plan, and paid time off.
