We’re seeking a skilled and passionate A/V Technician to join our team and help bring our events to life.
Job Description: As A/V Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of events by managing all aspects of audio, video, and lighting. You’ll work closely with our events team and other vendors to provide seamless A/V support for events of varying scales.
Key Responsibilities:
Lighting Design and Operation:
- Design, set up, and operate lighting systems for events, including stage productions, corporate events, and live performances.
- Program and operate lighting consoles, ensuring proper focus, intensity, and color.
- Collaborate with event designers and directors to achieve the desired visual effects.
- Maintain and repair lighting equipment, including fixtures, cables, and consoles.
Sound Design and Operation:
- Set up and operate sound systems, including microphones, speakers, mixers, and amplifiers.
- Mix audio for live events, ensuring clarity and balance across all audio sources.
- Perform sound checks to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Maintain, inspect, and repair sound equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Event Preparation and Execution:
- Collaborate with the production team to plan technical requirements for events.
- Coordinate with event organizers, performers, and other technicians to ensure seamless execution.
- Monitor and adjust lighting and sound during events to respond to real-time needs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an A/V Technician or similar role, with expertise in operating audio, video, and lighting systems.
- Proficiency with lighting consoles (e.g., ETC, MA Lighting) and sound equipment (e.g., digital and analog mixers).
- Strong understanding of technical production elements, including rigging and power distribution.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Strong understanding of signal flow, power requirements, and safe equipment handling practices.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in large-scale event production (1,000 guests).
- Familiarity with CAD software for lighting design.
- Experience with wireless audio systems and advanced sound engineering techniques.
- Familiarity with industry-standard software (e.g., QLab, Resolume, or similar).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
- Comfortable working at heights (e.g., on scaffolding or ladders).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
