PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the area assigned in a clean and sanitary manner following Plymouth Harbor policies and procedures.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Clean assigned area, as directed.
2. Maintain furniture in assigned areas in the pre-determined pattern.
3. Use proper chemicals in various duties as instructed by supervisor.
4. Report any unsafe conditions or items in need of repair.
5. Keep all dispensers stocked with toilet tissue, paper towels, and soap, as necessary.
6. Follow established cleaning procedures as directed by immediate supervisor.
7. Re-stock housekeeping cart at the end of the day with proper linens, chemicals, or supplies as job dictates.
8. Clean floors with proper equipment, including vacuum sweepers, dust mops, damp mops, or sponge mops as directed by immediate supervisor.
9. Empty and re-line all trash receptacles in assigned areas.
10. Make beds according to established policies and procedures. Handle soiled linen as instructed by supervisor.
11. Work safely, complying at all times with Plymouth Harbor safety standards.
12. Call 555 in the event of an emergency.
13. Discharge properly other responsibilities and duties that may be directed by manager.
14. Maintain work area, equipment, and supplies in a clean, sanitary, and organized manner. Ensure that work areas are neat and confidential materials are properly stored before leaving area on breaks, end of workday, etc.
15. Work safely, complying at all times with Plymouth Harbor safety standards.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education:
- Less than a high school education is acceptable.
- Minimum one year employment as a housekeeper in a hotel, resort, or CCRC environment, or as a private housekeeper.
- Must have good organizational skills.
- Must be a detail-oriented person and able to perform duties with great accuracy on a daily basis.
- Must have excellent personal skills, demonstrating the ability to conduct oneself in a non-controversial style; a style that inspires the respect of others and promotes a sense of trust in the individual’s competence.
- Must have good communication skills, speaking, writing, and listening.
- Must be fluent in English.
