Plymouth Housing is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized AR/AP Accountant to manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) activities for a diverse portfolio of buildings and departments. This role involves handling AP and AR for apartment building operations across 11 non-profit and for-profit legal entities, requiring strong critical thinking skills to analyze source documents, ensure accuracy, reconcile accounts, and maintain financial integrity.
Plymouth Housing is a nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for single adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. With apartment buildings throughout King County, Plymouth is helping the most vulnerable members of our community leave homelessness behind forever. At Plymouth, we’re not simply trying to get people off the streets. We provide supportive services like case management and health care so that our residents can thrive long-term. As part of our strategic vision, we are building internal behavioral health services and transforming our systems to address rapid growth and the changing needs of residents.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE DOING IN THIS ROLE AT PLYMOUTH HOUSING
- Manage AR and AP activities for assigned buildings.
- Reconcile tenant and commercial rent, subsidies, and related accounts.
- Communicate with vendors and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Prepare checks and electronic payments.
- Track and reconcile receipts from grants, donations, and fundraising.
- Collaborate with Seattle Housing Authority and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely processing.
SOME KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES WE NEED FROM YOU

- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including basic formulas and Pivot Tables.
- Basic skills with MS Teams, Zoom, MS Word, and Adobe.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of AP/AR experience.
- Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
