Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our School Age Summer Program. Start date will be May 19th, 2025 to August 8th, 2025. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children in various capacities. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that promotes the intellectual, social, and emotional development of students and also involves going on outings in the Wichita and surrounding communities. The Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, managing classroom dynamics, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
Duties
- Educate students by developing and implementing lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Provide individualized support to students, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a respectful and productive learning environment.
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and other stakeholders to support student development and address any concerns.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Facilitate activities that promote physical education, creativity, and social skills among students.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom setting conducive to learning.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; certification in Early Childhood Education preferred but not required.
- Experience working with children in educational settings such as private schools or childcare facilities. (required)
- Knowledge of special education practices is a plus; experience with early intervention strategies is desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster an inclusive environment for all learners.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A commitment to continuous professional growth through tutoring or participation in relevant workshops.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that incorporate various teaching methodologies.
- CPR & First Aid (recommended)
