The Education Academic Unit at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH invites applications for a non-tenure track, Professor of Practice, position to commence in August 2025.

The Core Functions Are

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in inclusive special education and technology.
• Develop/improve the undergraduate elementary education literacy curriculum.
• Teach graduate level literacy course for the special education program.
• Teach courses for educator licensure programs.
• Academic advising with undergraduate students.

Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

• Master’s in education or a related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of learners and collaborate effectively with students and colleagues.
• Demonstrated potential for excellent teaching.
• Skills to serve as an academic adviser and mentor for undergraduate students.
• Expertise to teach one or more of the following courses: Elementary Literacy, Special Education.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate in Education or a related field.
• Five years of K-12 teaching experience
• Certification as a trainer in an early literacy program such as LETRS, Wilson Reading System, Keys to Literacy, or Orton-Gillingham.
• Background in establishing digital learning environments and utilizing technology in instruction.
• Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining partnerships and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders.
• Participation in collaborative projects and programs with colleagues and students across the workplace.
• Teaching experience at a university level.
