The Associate Director of Transfer Admission will serve as the main point of contact for all prospective undergraduate transfer students. This position will build professional relationship with prospective students through multiple mediums venues including social media, electronic, and other tools geared towards effective relationship management.
The position will also evaluate applications and advise transfer students of the

process geared towards their enrollment at Plymouth State University. Strategic:
- Plan and implement strategic recruiting and outreach strategies and initiatives to attract prospective undergraduate transfer students. Other duties as may be assigned from time to time, Operational:
- Build effective and meaningful professional relationships with prospective students interested in attending Plymouth State University with a goal of recruiting new students and meeting or exceed territory and overall admission enrollment goals. The Associate Director of Transfer Admissions will –
- Interview and counsel prospective students and/or their parents/family members to explain pertinent admissions policies/procedures.
- Assist students with admission application completion, credits evaluation, and degree planning.
- Build and maintain relationships with school/institutional counselors and other prospective student advocates.
Travel (50%)
- Research, identify, and plan travel for recruitment purposes.
- Attend recruitment fairs, community college visits, and any other venue with the purpose of attracting and recruiting transfer students to Plymouth State University.
- Set up a table with printed materials/handouts and marketing materials.
- Provide information/answer questions from students coming to the table
- Identify events/opportunities other than recruitment fairs to attract/recruit qualified transfer students.
- Fill in for First Year Counselor events when available and needed
- Convert prospective students to inquiries and inquiries to applicants.
- Assist Communications and Marketing department to create and implement email campaigns, texting campaigns, and other ways of converting prospects and inquiries to applicants.
- Communicate with prospects and inquiries via email, phone, text, and in-person events with the goal of converting them to applicants.
- Assist applicants with completion of transfer application.
- Guide students through email, phone conversations, and in-person meetings to assist with completion of application.
- Review completed applications – In a timely manner, review completed applications in the Read 1 bin. Completed applications should be processed within 10 business days of submission unless an exception has been approved by the Director of Admissions.
- Communicate with applicants and/or school representatives when further information is needed for proper evaluation.
- Provide basic guidance to applicants about what credits may and may not transfer and what course load may look like if they attend.
- *Actual class counseling will reside in the Academic and Career Advising Center and is not a direct responsibility of this position.
- Supervise and work with the Transfer Admissions Operation Coordinator
- Ensure this staff member is successfully completing their tasks
- Work together to improve upon the transfer credit evaluation process
- Participate and assist with any on-campus events that are deemed appropriate by the Director of Admissions. Events include but not limited to Open House, Accepted Student Day, Summer Transfer Orientation, Daily Info Sessions, Special Group Tours, and Student Life led events.
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 2 years experience in higher ed admissions is preferred
- Valid US-issued driver’s license
- Knowledge/experience with Microsoft platform and/or Google platform preferred, especially Microsoft Teams.
- Knowledge/experience with CRM, SIS, or other database platforms preferred, especially Slate and Workday.
- Experience working with transfer students at a Slate based higher ed admissions office.
