As a member of the Finance team, this position will focus on solving organizational problems by analyzing processes, workflows, and systems with the objective of identifying opportunities for either improvement or automation. The Senior Financial Data Specialist will have an impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of our daily operations, and a lasting influence on our growth plans.

The analyst position will work with data specialists and FP&A specialists to perform research, gather and interpret data, and create and analyze models.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Interpret data, analyze results using analytics, research methodologies, and statistical techniques
  • Create and run reports for departments/units and present conclusions to senior-level analysts
  • Perform research, analyze data, and report conclusions to senior-level analysts
  • Perform processes associated with data analysis, such as prescriptive analytics, predictive analytics, descriptive analytics, and diagnostic analytics
  • Responsible for making conclusions about important company data
  • Successful applicants will be able to juggle data collection, storage, and security to safeguard company information while guaranteeing its access
  • Apply a mixture of analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills to define tendencies in complex data sets and relay them to superiors
  • Improve, execute, and effectively communicate significant analyses that identify meaningful trends and opportunities
  • Participate in regular meetings with management, assessing and addressing issues to identify and implement improvements toward efficient operations
  • Provide strong and timely financial and business analytic decision support to business partners and various organizational stakeholders
  • Develop actionable roadmaps for improving workflows and processes
  • Conduct full lifecycle of analytics projects, including pulling, manipulating, and exporting data from project requirements documentation to design and execution
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local legislation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree, preferably in accounting, computer science, mathematics, business analytics, or economics and 3 years’ experience; or bachelor’s in business and a year of experience at the Financial Data Specialist level.
  • Fluid with data and ability to spot patterns
  • Understanding of financial modeling
  • Knowledge of report generation software tools such as Banner, Workday, Adaptive, Microsoft Power BI, and expert Microsoft Excel skills and a willingness to learn new software applications
  • Experience in utilizing data visualization applications like Tableau
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating abundant information with accuracy
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
