Job Description:
The Apparel Designer is responsible for designing sleepwear and loungewear garments in Women’s, Men’s, and Kids categories for multiple brands. With the support of the Design Manager, the Apparel Designer is responsible for staying aware of current trends and sketching new styles, creating color palettes, and developing new fabrics through collaboration with Designers, Retail Partners, and our Overseas office. The Apparel Designer will communicate directly with both our domestic team and the overseas team to create styles that are both trend right and meets the aesthetic of each brand. It is the responsibility of the Apparel Designer to present their ideas in meetings with external clients and make revisions as they are requested. This position requires an individual with strong knowledge in apparel design and development with the ability to translate trend into new ideas creating relevant garments for the brands it supports. Specific duties are listed below.
Job Duties:
- · Create and develop sleepwear and loungewear garments for assigned category through trend research, sketching, fabric development, 3D creation, translating market trends into apparel products.
- Collaborates with design team and actively participates in the development process from design ideation, sampling, and approvals.
- · Sketches flats for categories and creates CADs for design presentations
- · Effectively communicates design direction to Technical Designer in the creation of garment specifications, pattern development and sampling, with the support of the Design Manager.
- · Works closely with 3D Designer to bring designs to life for both design presentation, expression of fit, and final fit approvals.
- · Provides artwork direction to Textile Designer and creates compelling presentations.
- · Partners with overseas team in the sourcing and procurement of fabric, trimmings, or other materials.
- · Presents concepts and products at various milestone meetings to retail partners that fit the consumer appropriately to the brand.

Qualification:
- · 2-5 years of Apparel Design experience
- · BA or BS in Apparel Design and Development
- Successful experience in medium or large size company or successful experience working with a medium or large company/client.
- · Intermediate to advanced drawing skills and strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- · Strong knowledge of cut & sew knits and wovens; sleepwear experience is a plus
- · Knowledge of 3D garment visualization technology, preferably CLO 3D

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
