General Summary:
As the AV Production Manager, you are responsible for A/V production that enhances in-building guest experiences while working with tenants/clients to manage event day expectations within the Resch Complex. This role leads a team of control room event day staff who operate production systems such as replay, routing, sound, lighting and graphics. This role also assists with researching and implementing new technologies and troubleshoots/resolves complex issues in a timely manner.
Job Duties:
- Demonstrates and embodies the PMI Entertainment Group Culture and Customer Service values.
- Schedules, hires/terminates, and supervises all part-time staff that work within the control room.
- Serves as the producer/engineer in charge for events that utilize the control room for video production.
- Supervises a full-time Digital AV Coordinator primarily responsible for video display content management and setup of AV equipment for events as needed.
- Provides high levels of customer service to all end-users and develops strong working relationships to continuously increase client satisfaction.
- Operates and services a variety of audio/visual/scoring equipment including, but not limited to video switcher, replay system, graphics, cameras, audio mixing board and score console.
- Designs graphics and creates video templates as needed for scoreboard/LED boards.
- Utilizes appropriate software to perform necessary video edits.
- Loads video spots, music, and graphics into applicable systems.
- Performs preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment and systems are in operating order by making repairs and adjustments or authorizing the need to send equipment in for repair.
- Creates an annual budget for all audio/video needs throughout the complex.
- Recommends upgrades and new systems to stakeholders and writes RFPs for bidding processes.
- Works with outside vendors and approves A/V purchases.
- Coordinates with clients on placement, integration, and ensures functionality of LED screens, lighting, microphones, sound mixing, and video-conferencing equipment for live events and meetings.
- Verifies audio/video signals are tested and outputting to sources as needed i.e.: webcasting equipment and TV trucks.
- Coordinates and assists external television crews with tying into in-house systems as needed for video, audio, and scoring data.
- Works closely with clients/tenants to verify building sponsors’ video content is being run per contracts.
- Contributes to the development of processes and procedures.
- Maintains a neat and clean appearance.
- Follows all Company directed guidelines on energy conservation and practices conserving energy with all business aspects of PMI.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of applicable audio/visual equipment at a level normally acquired through completion of high school or associates degree and at least 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Basic knowledge of IP networking architecture
- Must have a working knowledge of DMX protocol
- Knowledge of lighting systems such as ETC Mosaic and ETC Paradigm is a bonus
- Must maintain a strong working knowledge of Daktronics LED displays systems and peripherals, Ross video switcher, Xpression CG software, Ross Ultrix Routing Platform, Evertz Dreamcatcher Platform, Q-Sys Ecosystem, Dante Domain Manager, IPTV systems, digital signage management.
- Dante Level 1 certification is a bonus.
- Must know industry standard A/V connectors and hardware terminology, such as: XLR, BNC, ST and LC Fiber, Dante Audio, QLAN, etc.
- Adobe Creative Cloud knowledge is required.
- Knowledge of AutoCad software is a bonus.
- Analytical skills and technical thinking necessary to perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose equipment problems.
- Proven interpersonal, communication skills and emotional intelligence when dealing with all levels of users.
- Ability to read, understand, and implement information contained in general audio/visual related user manuals, and other written forms of instruction.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers. Must be able to use these skills in all units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Must be able to compute rate, ration, and percent.
- Must be able to operate all complex Audio/Video equipment in a show setting.
- Advanced working knowledge of A\V wiring, connections, and troubleshooting of all complex audio/visual equipment which includes by not limited to amplifiers, speakers, digital signal processors, microphones, LCD displays, projectors, video switchers, video routers, etc.
- Must keep up to date on latest A\V technologies and trends. Bring forward any information that may improve processes or overall customer experience to the Director of IT for future implementation.
- Must be able to setup A/V systems for events as needed.
- Must be able to lead and supervise a wide variety of part-time positions within a live production environment.
Other Expectations:
- Frequent mobility and/or sitting, standing, bending, or reaching for extensive periods of time.
- Lifting is required for setting up AV equipment.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate audio/visual equipment.
- Requires hearing within normal range and eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read communications, reports, and equipment terminals.
- Requires working in a fast-paced environment and irregular work hours.
- Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work plans and articulate goals.
- Requires excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to use logical thinking to solve problems.
- Frequently exposed to noise and confined spaces while performing this job.
- Evening and weekend hours will be required.
