PMI SFBAC Programs offer a unified ecosystem of services designed to support professionals in their career development and transitions. The programs cater to a diverse range of professionals, from those exploring new opportunities to seasoned experts, through initiatives like Career Quest, Mentorship, Next Generation Leaders, Professional Development, and Sustainability Programs. There is a steerco that oversees these programs with a primary focus on developing the next generation of project management professionals.
KEY INFORMATION
- The first three months of this position are probationary. During this time, refrain from publicizing your title for personal benefits. After probation, social media disclosure is permitted.
- The executive leadership panel (CEO, CPO, Strategic Advisors & Board members) reserve the right to reassess and adjust the role based on performance and professionalism.
POSITION SUMMARY
As a Program Director, you are the primary liaison between the program team, chapter co-leadership, and executive leadership. You are responsible for aligning the program with the chapter's mission, contributing to its growth, and fostering a professional environment built on respect, transparency, and accountability.
LEADERSHIP SKILLS
- Act as a bridge between the program team and leadership, ensuring alignment with chapter missions and objectives.
- Promote a culture of respect, transparency, and accountability within the team.
- Coach and mentor your team, removing obstacles and guiding them to become future leaders.
- Support the execution of the program roadmap and assist in conflict resolution.
STRATEGIC PLANNING
- Understand and contribute to the chapter's yearly objectives, developing strategies that align with the chapter's overall goals.
- Oversee planning, budgeting, and risk management for program initiatives, ensuring value delivery and innovation.
EXECUTION SKILLS
- Lead by example, stepping in to support the execution of initiatives as needed.
- Develop and manage plans, risk registers, budget projections, and communication strategies.
- Ensure data-driven decision-making and adaptability to situational changes.
- Maintain transparency through regular communication with team members, co-leaders, and chapter leadership.
- Efficient with change management to support the agile and adaptive culture of the org.
OTHER SPECIFICS
- Partner with program and chapter leadership to develop yearly strategies, goals, and financial projections.
- Hire, supervise, and coach team members, ensuring alignment with chapter policies and necessary approvals.
- Monitor program success and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership and support program sustainability and scalability.
- Manage change, risk, and resources effectively, removing impediments as needed.
- Open to feedback and adaptive.
QUALIFICATIONS
Promotion Based
- Minimum of 3 years in a leadership position within PMI SFBAC.
- Performance evaluations and peer feedback will be considered
Direct Hire
- Prior leadership experience with the chapter or partner chapters with PMI.
- At least 12 years of professional experience in a leadership role.
- Successful completion of interviews with peers, directors, and the CPO.
COMMITMENT
- Minimum of 4-5 hours per week for a one-year term.
- Ability to manage relationships and responsibilities both upwards and downwards within the organization.
