Full Job Description
- Work within the Land, Chemicals and Redevelopment Division (LCRD) program as a liaison between the Regional Records Liaison Officer (RLO) and EPA staff to provide records management guidance and support.
- Assist staff with uploading electronic records into the Agency Records Management System and entering metadata using its tools.
- Complete Records Contacts training and other mandatory training.
- Develop appropriate file structures and process for creating and maintaining records using EPA approved systems and tools.
- Educate staff of their records responsibilities to protect records in accordance with federal and EPA requirements.
- Respond to questions and requests for assistance on all aspects of records management.
- Update and maintain file plans in an electronic format.
- Educate and assist EPA employees with US EPA’s electronic records management system and its tools for uploading electronic records and entering metadata.
- Responsible for preparing records for on-site maintenance, scanning, and destruction according to the established procedures and applicable records retention schedules.
- Responsible for entering metadata for paper records into PATT Box Listings and Versatile file and box tracking database.
- Responsible for researching applicable records retention schedules for paper and electronic records.
- Responsible for search and retrieval of records on-site and off-site.
- Responsible for identifying and protecting CBI/CUI records according to EPA guidelines on CBI/CUI records.
- Ability to type 40 words per minute with a 95% accuracy rate.
- Must pass a 3 minute mandatory typing test. The typing requirements are non-negotiable.
PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION…
- College degree preferred but not required.
- Records management experience preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite/Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to learn new systems (software), processes, and adapt to change.
- Accurate typing speed of 40 wpm minimum.
