What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESY Program Coordinator position at PNW BOCES?
DUTIES:
Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for an ESY Program Coordinator for the Pines Bridge program from July 1, 2025 to August 11, 2025. The ESY Program Coordinator is a seasonal leadership position that is responsible for the preparation, planning and supervision required to oversee the day-to-day operations of the ESY program (i.e. student management, transportation, scheduling).
- Assist with interviewing and hiring the ESY staff, as needed;
- Assist with scheduling students into classes and their related services;
- Assist with assigning staff; supervise and evaluate all of the ESY staff;
- Maintain records and reports for students;
- Effectively communicate with parents, students, staff, administrators, and districts.
- Other duties as required by the Director of Special Education or the State Education Department.
Coordinator will accept the responsibility for any outstanding hiring, scheduling, staffing assignments, and logistical program issues as of June 2, 2025.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess the appropriate New York State Education Department certification to hold position. Appropriate NYS School Building Administrator certification.
CHARACTERISTICS DESIRED:
Extensive knowledge of instructional approaches for students with multiple disabilities. Must be driven, organized & have the ability to positively manage staff and students. Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.
