Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere at the front desk.
- Manage incoming phone calls using multi-line phone systems, directing calls as necessary.
- Schedule appointments and maintain an organized calendar for medical staff.
- Collect patient information and verify insurance details accurately.
- Process patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently, including managing payments and billing inquiries.
- Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and 10 key typing for medical records.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth office operations and assist with any additional office management tasks as needed.
- Utilize ICD-10 coding knowledge to assist with documentation and billing processes when required.
- Provide bilingual support to patients as needed, enhancing communication for non-English speaking individuals.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in office management practices and procedures is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual abilities are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding is beneficial but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical administration is advantageous.
